New Rain Boots

Last weekend my Mom was in town. We went to Target and found these cute rain boots for the boys. They are too big, but the boys love them anyway. They are so funny. They have to wear their rain boots out even if it is slightly wet. Skoebie's boots are cows and he moos every time he wears them. Stew's boots are Dinosaurs which make him pretend to be a scary dino. Yesterday, Joe was cleaning up outside and before I could even get Stew dressed he got his boots on all by himself and let himself out. Skoebie had just had a diaper change and was determined to go out in his boots and a diaper. It was a fight to get him dressed because I had to take off the boots before putting on his pants. Talk about a fit. He was sure I was trying to sabotage his day. He cheered up quickly when we finally got his boots back on and let him go out. I hope you can enjoy rain as much as these two boys!

Pre-school Picasso

On Thursday when we picked up Stew from pre-school he had this lovely piece of artwork to bring home. He was a little grumpy about it because it didn't turn out how he had hoped. He kept telling me about how it was broken and pointing out what he thought was wrong with it. I kept reassuring him that it was a good looking snowman. Later that night at dinner we were talking about what he did at school that day and he told me, "Today is Thursday, Tomorrow Friday, Saturday Papa home, Sunday church day, Tuesday school day, and two more days". I was shocked! Apparently they talked about the days of the week and what happens each of those days. I just could not believe that in a 3 hour session at pre-school that he could learn most of the days of the week. Expecially enough to repeat them back to me 7 hours after we had picked him up. I was very proud. He really picked it up fast. After dinner he even was playing teacher and trying to teach Skoebie the days of the week. It was really cute listening to him tell Skoebie the names of the days and hearing Skoebie try and say them.

From Scratch!

Look what I made! I have to brag about myself. This was my first attempt at making homemade pizza crust and sauce. I must admit it was delicious. I think the sauce I made could have been better, but I will definitely try this again. I made it with Canadian bacon and pineapple. It was funny because I can't find my pizza stones since the move, so I had to use a square pan. It was a crowd pleaser. Do the pictures make you drool? Monster Jam 2009

OK, From reading this blog you may have noticed that our boys are obsessed with monster trucks. So, when Joe and I heard Monster Jam was coming to town we decided it would be a fun family outing for all of us. Our boys were mesmerized. The night couldn't have been any better. We got to see the demolition derby, barrel racing, the roll over contest and best of all "Big, Huge monster Trucks". I remember going to monster truck show as a kid with my friend Amanda's family. It brought back memories as well as new ones with our family. It was Joe's first time to see a Monster Truck show too. I am not sure who was more excited, Joe or the Boys. We ended up with great seats and an even better view.

The Joy of Baking!

The boys have discovered that they LOVE to help in the kitchen. They are good little helpers. Stew always wants to do it all, but we have to take turns since Skoebie wants a part of the action. They are goofs. Of course, their favorite part of the whole thing is clean up where they get to lick the bowl and the spoon. By the look of Joy on Skoebie's face he also enjoys eating the goods when the job is done too.

Our New House inside and out

We moved onto post a little over a month ago and life has been hectic ever since. We have been sorting through TONS of boxes and getting everything organized. We also managed to drive down to Idaho for Christmas to spend some time with Joe's family despite all of the snow we had here. Now we are almost completely through all of the boxes and most everything has a home in our new house. The boys are so excited to have a house. The deer above visits us frequently, we see it directly in front of our house. We also have squirrels, birds and raccoons that enjoy visiting our house. The next picture is of the boys driving their "monster truck" in the back yard. They love to drive that truck and be outside any chance they can get. Sometimes it is hard to keep them in, despite the weather. Below I have included some pictures of our dining/living room. It is a Huge room with a large bank of windows all along the back of the house where we can look out and see the back yard. This is the new dining table we ordered and just recieved. It is so nice to have a real table to eat at again. I LOVE IT! And finally Stew standing in the middle of the living room part of the great room watching his favorite cartoon, Handy Manny. We still need to get a couch, but that will come with time. All in all we love living on post. It is so nice to be close to Joe's work, the store, and the many play areas on post. Stew also started pre-school on post last week Tuesdays and Thursdays half a day in the mornings and loves his "new school". He is also signed up for spring soccer which will bring plenty of fun pictures to share I am sure.

Anyone need a mechanic

The boys decided that they needed to "work" on their Hummer with their Handy Manny tools that April got them. It was really cute. Stew crawled up under there all by himself. He is a goof. I think Skoebie just wanted to know what Stew was doing to his truck.

Driving!

Skoebie and Papa playing with their RC cars. Stew's first drive down the hall in the apartment. The battery finally finished charging at 8 o'clock at night. So despite the fact that the boys were in jammies and getting ready for bed we had to take it for a test drive while Gramps was still here. (Dad and Meme had to fly out the next morning-Early!) Then we bundled up and took it outside. Stew had a blast! Skoebie enjoyed riding while Stew was driving. Then it was Skoeb's turn. He wasn't expecting the power that the truck has and it scared him. He didn't want to drive it again until the next day. Stew had a permanent smile on his face the entire time. I think he fell asleep with that smile on his face.

Dear Santa, I want a Monster Truck!

Stew has asked all Christmas season for one thing... A Monster Truck! He has been consistant in his asking. When my Mom and Dad said that they wanted to get the boys a Power-wheels truck, I knew that one little boys hopes had been filled. Stew was so excited when Gramps brought out this big box filled with yellow H2 Hummer monster Truck. Gramps even came out of the box too! Maybe that is why the boys thought that they got to keep him with us. Of course they had to get in the truck before it was even put together. It was great to get to watch the boys being so excited and have Dad and Meme there to share the moment with us.

Christmas with Dad and Meme

Meme bought the boys some remote control cars which have flashing lights. They Love watching them drive all over the place. It is fun that even Skoebie can make his car drive. Gramps and Papa had fun helping the boys learn how they work too. Skoebie had to show Meme the Handy Many tool set they got from Auntie A. Then Stew wanted everyone to see his Train pieces. These two kids love thier wooden trains.
