Fall Football in Korea

Here are the boys at what may be their last football game in Korea. The boys love to catch the ball, run the ball, and kick the ball (goof on the field) what ever it is that mascots do to encourage their team. They were so excited to get out and play last night. The team they were supposed to play last night didn't show so it gave the boys more play time on the field. Also the best part about fall football is the cooler weather! The weather here has been picture perfect fall the last few days which makes football even better.

It Dead Now Mama

This morning we were watching Sesame Street when Stew all of a sudden hopped up out if his chair and ran in the other room. I though, "OK? Wonder what got into him?" Then he came back in the room with the fly swatter and WACK! hit the TV! I was getting ready to yell at him when he turns to me and proudly says, "It dead now Mama, I killed it for you." He turned the fly swatter around and shows me the fly still stuck as evidence. He was very proud of himself. I had to get a picture to prove it. I was shocked that he actually got the fly. When I asked if he wanted me to take his picture with the dead fly he was all for it and gave me the honorable pirate smile and said "ARRRGH! It's dead."

HEY, Thats MY bed!

I think the guys of this house are conspiring against me. Look what I found in my bed on Saturday morning. Papa, Skoebie, and Stew! Three peas in a pod. Smile, you've been caught! Oh, Mama, we were just having a drink and reading some stories.

Look what rolled past our front door

OK, so it is probably not as cool since we do live on an army post. The boys and I had just walked outside to enjoy a beautiful fall day when we heard the rumble of track vehicles. Here we have a Bradley, a Hemit, a Paladin, and a... I forget. The boys think that all of the guys driving need a friendly wave to say "Hi". They are lucky their dad is an Army man.

The boys had a mac and cheese fight (Oh NO!) and Joe came home from a week in the field. (Horray!)

Thursday Mornings at the Library

Thursday morning this is our routine. We get up and go to the Library at Camp Casey where the boys get to enjoy friends, good stories, and snacks. The boys look forward to story time. They have even gotten much better at actually listening to the stories in our time here.

Ready or Not Here I Come...

The boys are looking out the window next to their bed. They love to climb up on the AC and look out. I laughed when I saw these little legs sticking out from under the curtains. I love Skoebie on his tip toes. When I said "Hey, what are you two doing?" Look who popped out of the window to see me. You gotta love these two.

Drying the harvest

Koreans are big into drying out their harvest so that they can use it year round. I think this is a great concept. However they just lay it out on any old blanket anywhere, beside the trash, on the sidewalk, a parking lot, the playground, etc. I don't think this is such a great concept. I just can't believe that this is just the norm. They are not worried about germs, filth, animals, insects or humans tainting their goods. They don't even have them up off of the ground! Korea must be cleaner than the US. Everywhere we walk these days there is something out drying. Here you can see red peppers - a staple here in Korea, some acorns - I thought acorns were poisonous, two types of mushrooms, and what looks like zucchini.

OK, I normally don't have my mind in the gutter, BUT... I couldn't walk past this sign and not share. This little guy fishing gave me quite a laugh.

Santa on Vacation? In Korea??

We were at the train station today when Stew tells me, "Look Mama, Claus..Ho Ho!" and he points across the platform to the other side. I was surprised to look up and see a Korean man who did somewhat resemble Mr Santa Claus himself. Of course he was dressed for the warmer weather. I personally thought he would vacation at the Casa Ybel Resort on Sanibel Island, FL instead of Korea. I know I would! According to a friend of ours he is a tour guide, she had seen him before. Stew was just excited that he saw Mr Claus.

An 80's Come Back?

Today we were out and about walking when I noticed this... I remember when my Uncle Joe Kautz was here Several years ago (I would guess maybe 20 yrs ago) and he sent us several different colored Reebok Hightops. This store usually has Converse All-Stars in the window and they had just changed their display. I couldn't believe my eyes. This is one fashion trend I never thought would make a comeback. Let alone, come back when we were in Korea just like Uncle Joe was many years ago.

Happy Birthday April!

This is my sister April. Today is her 29th birthday. Really it is! We just wanted to say Happy Birthday! We Love You!

Splish, Splash...

We were taking a bath. When our friends Kyle and Erica decided to join us before heading home for the night. They had all eaten Oreo cookies after dinner and needed a wash down. Needless to say the bathroom became completely soaked, but they had fun!

Rock On!

We purchased a DVD player for the flight home with a 13 hour battery life! I am hoping that it helps keep me sane. We also had to buy the boys headphones. Of course they were thrilled to try out their new headphones. The boys LOVE music. Once we put the headphones on their ears and hooked up our MP3 players their faces lit up and the dancing began. It is funny to see them with MP3 players and think, "What?!? My kids are already more technically savvy than I am? NAHHH." They just like the music.
