Stew loves his new little brother

Stew askes to hold Finn every chance he gets. When I took this picture Stew said that Finn was telling him something. When I asked what he said Stew told me it was a secret. It was really cute.

Stew's tonsils got evicted

This Morning we woke up and took Stew over to Madigan Army Hospital to have his tonsils out. He has always been a very loud snorer, and he has had night terrors since he was very little. At his 3 year check up the doc said that his tonsils were very big and needed to be checked by the ENT. The ENT said that they had to go along with their friends the adenoids. They think that his large tonsils may constrict his breathing at night and cause him to wake up in a panic, thus causing the night terrors. Stew did great today. He went to surgery like a pro, sped through recovery, and had the floor nurses eating out of the palm of his hand. He did so well that he did not have to stay the night. We were able to bring him home about 4pm. It was a long day for all, but hopefully it will help the snoring and the night terrors. Skoebie was so sweet today too. He answered Stew's every call. He held his hand when he was scared, gave hugs, got him tissues to wipe his nose and laid beside him in his hospital bed for comfort. These two boys are very sweet to each other. We were so proud of Stew today for being a big kid, and so brave. His biggest complaint the entire time was about the IV in his hand. Stew was also very good about drinking plenty of fluids today and he even was able to eat mac and cheese for lunch. I was impressed. He has been eating everything we would let him have ever since he woke up from surgery. He has been hungry all afternoon. He has eaten french fries, banana bread, shells and cheese, half a banana, green beans, and two Popsicles since we got home! You would think he missed more than just breakfast. We are just very glad to have him back home and healing. I will post pictures of our big day tomorrow. Until then...

Studious Stew

Stew decided the other day that he needed some computer time. I was cleaning up breakfast dishes in the Kitchen and when I came looking for him he was here. In our bedroom on the computer. He was quite serious about what he was pretending to do as well.

Free rides and Pirate smiles!

While unpacking suitcases Friday Joe gave Stew a ride in our big suitcase and then Stew decided to give Skoeb rides in his Lightening McQueen Suitcase. Fun was had by all!

I want to be a teacher like him.

While visiting at Jim and Elaine's house Stew was going through a box of pictures. When he came across this one of Jesus teaching the children he didn't even ask what the picture was. He just immediately said, "I want to be a teacher like him." I thought it was very sweet.

Happy and 3!

Stew got to blow out the candles on his four wheeler cake. He got to have his cake and eat it too, that is after Papa shoved his face in it. he got to rip into his packages with enormous gusto. And ... rip open every package and play with the toys and wear his new shirt while still at the party. WOW what an evening.
Stew was so funny opening his presents this year. He knew exactly what this birthday thing was all about. He would grab a present off of the table, fling it in the floor, jump up in the air and land on it with his bum and then begin riping it to shreds. It was hilarious to watch. I am not sure what was going through his head, but it sure gave us all a laugh. He was quite happy at the end of the night. He got 10 new vehicles (5 Trucks, 4 Cars, and one four wheeler), an Elmo t-shirt, Don't wake the Hulk game, some books for the airplane, a view finder 3-D, a parachuting Diego, and a little Count Dracula stuffed toy. Not to bad for being 3! Happy Birthday Stew!

Stew is 3!

Happy Birthday Stew Man! It is hard to believe that this little guy is 3 already. The pictures on top are from yesterday. Stew watching football with his Papa, and driving his tractor at the train station while waiting on the train. Then we have pictures from his actual birthday. What a great Mom am I. I let Stew run around in Underwear all morning because it was his Birthday and that is what he wanted to do. Then tonight was Joe's farewell BBQ with his soldiers, and this is a picture of Stew with one of the guys 5 year old son. Yes, you read that right, the boy beside Stew is 5. We are having him a birthday party tomorrow with a few friends so I will have actual birthday party pictures later. Poor guy is two out of three at living in a hotel on his birthday.

It Dead Now Mama

This morning we were watching Sesame Street when Stew all of a sudden hopped up out if his chair and ran in the other room. I though, "OK? Wonder what got into him?" Then he came back in the room with the fly swatter and WACK! hit the TV! I was getting ready to yell at him when he turns to me and proudly says, "It dead now Mama, I killed it for you." He turned the fly swatter around and shows me the fly still stuck as evidence. He was very proud of himself. I had to get a picture to prove it. I was shocked that he actually got the fly. When I asked if he wanted me to take his picture with the dead fly he was all for it and gave me the honorable pirate smile and said "ARRRGH! It's dead."

HEY, Thats MY bed!

I think the guys of this house are conspiring against me. Look what I found in my bed on Saturday morning. Papa, Skoebie, and Stew! Three peas in a pod. Smile, you've been caught! Oh, Mama, we were just having a drink and reading some stories.

The Paladins...

Here some pics of the Paladins. I like the way Stew is trying to look tough. I also love this picture of Skoeb. He is running between two Paladins. I think it is awesome how his face and foot are in focus but the rest of him is out of focus.

Motor Pool Mayhem

Here are the boys being carried by our friend Mat, who is one of the mechanics in Joe's unit. Then he handed them off to Joe. Skoebie had to show me his hands were "Yuckie" I think he thought he could be a mecanic too. Finally what happend when you let two little guys loose in they motor pool, they find a water source.

Stew and Skoebie are obsessed with Army vehicles. In the words of Skoebie, "Mama, Mama, Big Truck!" They were pretty excited that they were able to get up in this Humvee and pretend to drive. Then Stew wanted me to take his picture looking out the back window... Goof ball!

Sad Day

Ok, so I mentioned that Stew bravely waved bye to the truck with our stuff on it. Here is a picture of the truck all loaded down. Then after we walked away Stew couldn't be brave much longer. He broke down. He cried and cried. Joe and I had to talk to him about how everything was going to meet us at our new house. He then told us he was ready to get on the plane. He wanted the plane now. Thursday we went to the library and I showed him the globe and again explained where we were, where our new house would be, where Gram-mama and Gramps lived and where Grammie and Pa lived. He seemed to understand better. He kept waving at the globe saying "Hi Grammie, Hi Pa, Hi Gramps, Hi Grand-mama, I see you soon." I think the globe helped. He seemed to perk up and feel better. Wednesday when we went over to Tiffany and Jeff's house for lunch Kyle, Skoebie and Stew decided to pull up some chairs and watch Cars. They were so funny all sitting there with their legs crossed just the same, until I got the camera out of course.
