Goalie

Saturday Stew had another soccer game and he got to play goalie for part of the game. His team is the Cougars (named by the coach). He kept pretending he was a fierce Cougar that wouldn't allow the ball to pass. He was actually a really good goalie for the team. This was the first time that the team played with someone as goalie. In the pictures above you can see preparing to stop the ball, and then Stew is at the bottom of the pile in the other picture after just stopping the ball. Below is Stew running and kicking the ball and then another picture of him being goalie he actually dove sideways and stopped the ball. I was really proud of him because he was determined to stop the ball and was not afraid that all the other kids were running right at him. He even got kicked in the nose once but stopped the ball, and got right back up and was ready to be goalie again. He was one Tough, fierce Cougar!

This week I decided to put a wallpaper border up in the boys room. I had to share pictures of my hard work. I was quited impressed with how it turned out. when i went to take pictures Stew decided he needed to be in them. The picture above with the boys in front of their closet doors cracks me up with Stew resting his chin on his toy saw. Then below you can see how the border goes around the room and then the boys outside the door to their room. Stew told me that now we know it is his and Skoebie's room because there are trucks on the door.

Sleepy Skoebie

The other night Stew came out of his room after going to bed and told us that Skoebie was not in his bed. Joe and I looked at each other and thought he must just be all covered up in his blankets and Stew can't see him. As Joe walked down the dark hallway to carry Stew back to bed he found Skoeb. He had obviously gotten out of bed, but was too tired to get very far. He was asleep in his own doorway. Joe called me down to look at him (and take pictures of course) and then Joe put him back in bed. Poor guy, I wonder what he wanted...perhaps we will never know.

Under Construction

We had our ultrasound this week to check in on this baby and we are happy to report that it is a healthy baby boy! He measured a little small so they decided to delay my due date by almost two weeks. I now have a due date of July 30th. i will get to have another ultrasound in a month to check on his progress. I will keep you posted. I think if you click on the picture above it will show you a bigger image. I will try and get better scans in the meantime. We are still working on a name so you will have to be patient with us.

Trick or treat

these are the boys halloween costumes from the year before last, 2007! Stew found them when I was doing some cleaning and they wanted to put them on. Can you believe it Skoebie's costume was size 12-18mos and Stew's was size 18-24 mos! i had a good laugh and had to share. They actually fit better than I thought they would. The boys had a lot of fun playing dress up "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse". At one point Stew even had on the Mickey costume, it was a hoot!

laundry help

If you ever need a hand emptying a front loader waser or dryer Skoebie is the man to call. I think he can hear the machines open from the other side of the house! He actually loves to help pull the clothes out and put them in as well as push the buttons to make the washer and dryer start. He thinks this is his job around the house. Who am I to tell him no? Sometimes he will even pull the basket of dirty clothes from the bedroom to the laundry room to help me get the job done. Next, I guess, I have to work on getting him to learn to fold and put away the clothes.

Stew drew this picture the other day. He then told me that he needed a piece of tape to hang it on the wall. He clearly told me it "was art and needed hanged up." I was busy doing something so I gave him a piece of tape and said, "Oh, really, Art huh?" Stew then told me, "Yes, I drew Papa and he needs to see it on the wall." That made me pay more attention and take a look. I think he did a pretty good job. I saw that he had Joe wearing a ball cap, hair, a smile and only one eye dark enough to be seen in the picture but there are two. I had to be sure to point it out to Joe when he came home from work. Expecially since it was "art" and had to be hung on the wall.

Stew loves trucks

How about sitting in a truck, reading about trucks with more trucks on the floor? Well, it sure makes Stew happy.

Stew's first soccer game

Saturday was Stew's first soccer game. We played the Tigers, another group of 3 and 4 year olds. It was a lot of fun to watch. We enjoyed watching the game and how some kids were way into playing and others could have cared less. Stew complained a little about his throat being dry and needing a drink, but other than that he did very well for just having surgery. He was a good defense man. The Tigers had one kid that was exceptionally great at scoring a goal, so Stew would try and force him to kick the ball out of bounds everytime he had the ball. He was actually doing a really good job. It will be fun to watch continued improvement over the next 5 weeks. They have a game every Saturday thru March 14th. Does anyone have a great team name suggestion for a "blue" team? (Like the Orange team was the Tigers)

Day two, the worst day...

Day two was definately the worst for poor Stew. We definately didn't do much. Stew rested and watched some TV. He hated taking his pain medicatin because he said it hurt and tasted bad. By the afternoon he perked up and made it outside to soccer practice. The outside air helped him feel better briefly. His major complaint through the entire process has been his ears. All of the swelling in his throat has caused pressure to build up behind his ears and make it even more painful to swallow. Thankfully everyday he continues to get better.
